Clai Sv Jakov Malvazija is one of the 101 Wines to Try Before You Die, according to it's author Margaret Rand. She has also added it to the short list for 2019 in her Decanter article 10 wines you should try in 2019. 

This organic, orange wine, made of Istrian Malvazija grape is something really extraordinary. Here are some of the main characteristics:

- Grown organically on rocky clay soil in western Istria
- Hand harvested 
- Fermented on the skins in open vats, without any addition of selected yeast and enzymes
- Aged in large wooden casks

Pair with: red meat, steak, tuna, salmon or white fish, matured cheese or dark chocolate. Or as Margaret Rand would say: With almost anything.
