Product descriptionFull-body red wine with aromas of ripe plum, cherry, carob and spices. Perfectly structured and balanced.
Grape variety: Plavac Mali is a red grape variety primarily grown along the Dalmatian coast of Croatia and on the neighbouring Dalmatian islands, particularly on the Pelješac Peninsula and the islands of Hvar and Korčula. It is known for its unique characteristics, which include: 1) Bold and Robust Flavours: Plavac Mali wines are typically bold and full-bodied with intense flavours. They often have dark fruit notes such as black cherry, plum, and blackberry, along with hints of Mediterranean herbs. 2) High Alcohol Content: Plavac Mali wines tend to have relatively high alcohol content, which contributes to their robust character and warming sensation. 3) Firm Tannins: These wines often have firm tannins that give structure to the wine and contribute to its ageing potential. 4) Aging Potential: Plavac Mali wines are known for their ageing potential. Some of the finest examples can improve with several years of bottle ageing, developing more complex flavours and aromas.
Winery: In the wine region of Dalmatia, not far from the historic town of Sibenik and right on the Adriatic Sea lies the 47-ha organic vineyard of Testament Winery. Despite the fact that the Testament Winery vineyard was only planted in 2007, they won more prizes at the Decanter World Wine Awards than any other Croatian winemaker. Testament Winery is thus taking an important step towards fulfilling the goal of producing the best Croatian wines at an affordable price. Winemakers Juraj Sladic and Igor Radovanovic are making Croatian wine history by combining the more than two-thousand-year-old Dalmatian wine tradition with modern techniques.
Region: The vineyards are located in the wine-growing region of Northern Dalmatia, close to the medieval town of Šibenik. Unique climate and soils.
