Product descriptionTasting Notes
Stina Cuvée Red is a soft and fruit-forward wine with abundant notes of red berries and subtle hints of chocolate. It is fresh and lively, with a long finish and smooth tannins. This medium-bodied wine also showcases elegant barrique influences, revealing delicate flavors of chocolate and coffee.
Vinification Process
The grapes are hand-harvested and transported to the winery within just a few hours of picking to preserve their freshness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with carefully selected yeasts. Two months after fermentation, the grape varieties are blended and aged for four months in oak barrels, adding depth and complexity to the wine.
Vineyards & Terroir
The vineyards of Stina Winery are spread across the picturesque island of Brač island, located in Dalmatia, Croatia. The red grape varieties thrive on the island’s southern slopes, benefiting from optimal sun exposure, while the **white grape varieties** are planted at elevations of 420m-600m, making them some of the highest-altitude vineyards for indigenous white grapes in Croatia.
Grape Composition:
This blend consists of 65-70% indigenous Croatian grape varieties, with the remainder being international varieties: Plavac Mali, Tribidrag (Zinfandel), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah
Sustainability & Vineyard Practices
No irrigation is allowed in the vineyards, ensuring that the vines develop deep root systems, leading to intense and concentrated flavors in the grapes.
The vineyards were planted between 2010 and 2013, reflecting a balance between young, vibrant vines and maturing parcels that contribute complexity to the wine.
Stina Cuvée Red is a versatile and elegant expressio of Dalmatia’s winemaking heritage, combining traditional Croatian grape varieties with international influences for a well-balanced and approachable wine.
