Product description
Product descriptionOttocento Bijelo is a benchmark for Istrian orange wines. Winemaker Giorgio Clai combines tradition and craftsmanship with a uncompromising natural philosophy. This wine blends Malvazija Istarska, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio, fermented on the skins and aged in large wooden barrels.
The result is a striking amber-colored wine. Aromas are rich and layered: dried apricot, orange peel, wild herbs, nuts, and a hint of honey. The palate is powerful, textured, and mineral, with fine tannins and a long, captivating finish. Ottocento Bijelo is a wine that keeps evolving in the glass, offering new facets with every sip.
Giorgio Clai is regarded as a pioneer of Croatian natural wine. His vineyards around the village of Krasica in Western Istria are farmed biodynamically, without chemicals. In the cellar he relies on spontaneous fermentation, long maceration, and no fining or filtration. The result: pure terroir wines of international renown.
Food Pairing:
Perfect with aged cheeses, grilled octopus, spiced vegetarian dishes, or truffle pasta. A wine to savor slowly.
