Product description

"It was a blazing hot August day in the middle of the harvest. Just as we are about to process 20 tons of freshly picked Pošip grapes, the wine press breaks down. An utter disaster. Winemaker Juraj Sladić steps into the vineyard for inspiration. The sun is at its ZENITH. "Who needs a press? I will do what my grandfather did", says Juraj a Dalmatian skin-contact wine. " - Testament Winery

Grape Variety: Pošip is the true Dalmatian white grape variety, originally discovered by a local farmer 150 years ago in the village of Smokvica. Pošip grapes are known for their aromatic qualities, often exhibiting notes of citrus fruits like lemon and orange, as well as floral and herbal undertones. Pošip wines typically have a refreshing acidity that lends them a lively and vibrant quality, making them well-suited for pairing with various foods. They often have a medium to full body, providing a satisfying mouthfeel without being overly heavy.

Winery: In the wine region of Dalmatia, not far from the historic town of Sibenik and right on the Adriatic Sea lies the 47-ha organic vineyard of Testament Winery. Despite the fact that the Testament Winery vineyard was only planted in 2007, they won more prizes at the Decanter World Wine Awards than any other Croatian winemaker. Testament Winery is thus taking an important step towards fulfilling the goal of producing the best Croatian wines at an affordable price. Winemakers Juraj Sladic and Igor Radovanovic are making Croatian wine history by combining the more than two-thousand-year-old Dalmatian wine tradition with modern techniques.

Region: The vineyards are located in the wine-growing region of Northern Dalmatia, in the immediate vicinity of the medieval town, of Šibenik. Unique climate and soils.

Tasting notes: Rich and complex with the typical characteristics of skin-contact fermentation.

Winemaking: Skin-contact fermentation for 21 days. Six months of maturation in big, new oak barrels and eight months maturation in the bottle for optimal integration of the aromas.

Food pairings: Dalmatian seafood stew (brodet), steamed clams with fresh herbs, lobster, and shrimps. It also pairs well with creamy dishes such as pan-fried seabass and risotto.

Alcohol: 13.5%
