Along the wine route that runs through the Plešivica hills lie the 6 ha of vineyards belonging to winemaker Kolarić. Plešivica is the smallest wine region in Croatia, but certainly not less worthy of mention, as it is known for its high quality sparkling wines.
Kolarić has created the Coletti label especially for his quality wines. The Coletti label consists of a number of sparkling wines, wines from native Plešivica grapes and wines from more famous international varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. In order to produce the wines, Kolarić uses various methods such as cold maceration, sur-lie and vinification on amphora.
In the Kolaric wine cellar there is a 1,200 litre amphora in which approximately 3 tonnes of premium grapes are fermented for two years before further processing. After fermentation, the wine is aged for another two years in wooden barrels and a few months in the bottle. The end result; a white wine that has acquired an orange colour through fermentation on the skin, almost no smell but a full and strong taste. The Coletti Amfora Pinot Grigio 2018 is according to many a wine with a lot of potential!
