Product descriptionA full-bodied white wine made with grapes harvested at full maturity and matured for 24 months on its lees in 500-litre oak barrels.
Grape variety: Pošip is the true Dalmatian white grape variety, originally discovered by a local farmer 150 years ago in the village of Smokvica where the winery is located. It produces full-bodied wines with excellent acidity and complex fruity and earthy aromas.
Winery: Merga Victa carefully selects its grapes from 25 local family farmers who have been growing grapes for generations. The winery is located in the village of Smokvica
Region: Dalmatian island terroir. There are a total of 200 vineyards in Smokvica, between 40 and 160 meters above sea level. The vines are at least 15 years old and the selected grapes come from three different soil types (red soil, sandy and rocky).
Tasting notes: Merga Victa Pošip Sur Lie wine is golden in colour, with pronounced aromas of ripe stone fruits such as peach and apricot, aromas of yellow flowers, vanilla, toast and almonds. It is dry, with a long and rounded finish.
Winemaking: The wine is made with grapes harvested at full maturity and macerated at low temperatures for 3-8 hours. The wine was then matured for 24 months on its lees in 500-litre oak barrels (a combination of French, American and Slavonian oak).
Food pairings: Shrimps, lobsters, creamy seafood risotto, richly cooked poultry.
