Americans Lee and Penny Anderson traveled to Croatia in 2001 where they fell in love with the beauty of the country, the sophisticated cuisine and, to their surprise, the wine! They bought the famous Rivijera hotel in the quaint coastal town of Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula and a number of small vineyards in the famous Dingač and Postup region.
Korta Katarina specializes in Plavac Mali, a grape variety that requires an abundance of heat and light to reach full ripeness. On the steep Dingač and Postup slopes, the climatic conditions are perfect for the Plavac Mali grape. The wines produced by Korta Katarina have a unique style and exceptional character. The full-bodied, harmonious and elegant wines with aromas of dried fruit and expertly softened tannins are, according to many, among the best ever made.
