Product description
Product descriptionThis wine is made from Plavac Mali, the most important Dalmatian red grape variety. The grapes for this wine come both, southern side of Hvar Island (which is traditionally thought of as the best position for Plavac Mali), as well as from the vineyards on the northern side that give lighter wines, with refreshing fruit aromas.
Typical varietal aromas of Plavac (sour cherry, plum, earth and Mediterranean herbs) are given a finishing touch through shorter ageing in oak barrels, which gives the wine discrete notes of wood, coffee and spices.
The specific quality of this wine is the softness and elegance which the winemaker tries to obtain from the otherwise arrogant nature of this autochthonous Dalmatian variety. In this way, the wine preserves the authenticity of the grape variety, as well as the freshness and lighter body and alcohol.
Best served at: 18°C
Pair with: red meat dishes, tomato sauces, bruschettas, dried tomatoes
