Plovac Ploski is one of the finest examples of Plavac Mali wines. The maceration in inox is stopped after five days. The wines ferment on their lees. The skins and pits are removed. This wine is aged in large traditional barrels for at least two years before being released to the market. The name, Plovac Ploski, derives from the name of the grape variety, Plavac Mali, and the word Plaze (beaches). What its name really means = Plavac from the Beaches.
Plaze wineyards area is known for the high average amount of sun hours, the steep gradient, and the carbon-rich, very skeletal soil that all account for the best-quality grapes.
Best served at 18-20 C
Note: needs to be decanted for a minimum of 30 min before drinking.
Serve with pasticada(beef stew), lobster stew or barbecue.
