An amazing example of well-aged Plavac Mali
Wooooow! Honestly, wow! This 2010 Plovac Ploški is delicious! No surprise the restaurant de Librije (3 Michelin stars) had it on their menu.
Plovac Ploški is made of Plavac Mali. According to the winemaker, this wine ferments on its lees and then matures for a minimum of 2 years in large, traditional oak barrels.
It's unfiltered, in deep garnet color. On the nose clean and even after 8 years still full of flavors. Earthy and spice flavors, like black pepper, nutmeg, and various dry fruits. On palate lots of nice taste of dry fruits too. This full body wine has medium acidity and very well rounded subtle tannins.
This wine was fantastic and it comes at the totally affordable price.
Pair it with grilled (bbq) meat, veal stew, lobster stew, ribs.
Best served at 18C (needs to be decanted for a min. of 30 min)
