The best Plavac Mali.
This wine was fantastic! Yet another bottle of a really good Plavac Mali from 2010.
It's a clear, medium garnet color. On the nose clear, with primary aromas of cabbage, wet floor, spice, and saltiness. On the palette still full of flavors. Notable black fruits, dry fruits, spice and certainly clear oak aging flavors like toast. While at first it mostly has salty, savory taste, there is something sweet about it, which perfectly softens the wine and displays its complexity.
This full-bodied wine, is strong in alcohol (15% vol), with medium acidity and high tannins and a medium finish. While tannins are certainly stronger than in Carić's Plovac Ploški, they are also very well balanced. With that said, my conclusion is that this is an excellent wine!
Pair it with grilled (bbq) meat, ribs, steak, veal stew or not too sweet desserts.
Best served at 18C (decanted it for a min. of 30 min)
